St Johns

Today we had a visit from out lovely St Johns teacher. The children learnt all about who can help us and when we use it - fire, ambulance and police. We also learnt how to make a 111 call, children needed to know their phone number and where they live. We then learnt about what happens if someone is bleeding - we need to use pressure and elevation (plug it, squeeze it, elevate it, bandage it)

Playing a game - who do we need to help

Practicing calling 111 and what to say

Bandaging up the bleeding - using bandages to plug it, squeeze it, lift it and then bandage it.

Swimming

Here are some pictures from our swimming lessons - we are making the most of the pool until it gets too cold for us to use!

Buddy Reading

We decided to do some buddy reading today. Children got a partner from a different reading group and got to share some reading and then ask each other some questions about the story that they read.

Lizard Art

We have been busy working on our next piece of art... our lizard art. We have used pastels to blend and used either hot or cold colours to create our lizards. Then we made our backgrounds using dye and spraying water onto it to create a raindrop effect. Lastly we used paint to make the rocks for our lizards to sit on. Here we are doing a few of these things... you will see these lovely creations starting to go up in the classroom next week.
